Babes in Mordheim

My eldest kid and I just had our first, full-fledged romp through Mordheim.

He did up a Beastmen warband (from my Chaos Warband project of last year, plus the four new Ungor he painted up all by his self).

I used a Chaos Carnival warband I managed to pick up off eBay for a relatively reasonable price (and decently painted, at that), together with my shiny new nurgle-babies (aren't they cute?).

Chaos vs. Chaos, the battle played out on my 2'x2' tiny Mordheim board that I've been putting together for a while now.

The culmination of all these projects made for a satisfying battle, and some great father/son time over the weekend.  Here's a battle report pictorial (pic heavy, so, after the jump!) . . . .

The kid becomes a painter

My oldest is now a teenager (YIKES!) and has graduated from occasional assistant painter with supervision, to a full-fledged solo painter.  He told me he found it relaxing - I said "Welcome to the club."

He's also been bitten by the Mordheim bug.  He's added to a Beastmen warband (using the minis from last year's Chaos Warband project), using a few Ungor that I picked up in an eBay lot.  Here's his handiwork:

They still need the bases painted, and they're not winning any Golden Deamon awards, but I think they're pretty good for a kid, don't you agree?

Wee little Nurglings for Mordheim

They went that-a-way.
I'm working on a Carnival of Chaos warband, and needed some Nurglings to fill out the troops.  Luckily, I had a few leftover, sparsely-populated sprues from a modern Plaguebearer box set, with the little nurglings left behind.  I game them each an individual base, and went to town yesterday - all done in a few hours.

Whoopie!  No one has more fun in the Warhammer universe than Nurglings!
And I had quite a bit of fun painting them.
Top down.  Bright pink maggots and electric green nurgloop, really liven up the bases.
Five little Nurglings hanging out in the wrong part of town.
Thanks for stopping by!

I am Mouse, not Man!

I've been busy (both good and bad) and traveling a lot recently.  Plus, a touch of melancholy, to be honest.  While I've been keeping up with all my on-line friends' postings, and actually getting a bit of gaming and painting in, I've not had the heart to post anything as of late.

Three Musketeers doesn't really work here, does it?
But Suber's whimsical post over at Old School Workshop struck a chord, and reminded me of some Reaper Mice minis that my daughter painted up a while back.  Thought I'd take a few pics and post them up, to get back into the swing of things.  Enjoy!

Pirate Rex!
Barbarian Cheesehead!
Roquefort of the King's Guard!
These guys can tell some great tales.
